After spending 30 years in prison, Chris Dodds transformed his life by turning years of hardship into a lifelong commitment to serving others. Today, as a member of HART (Hope and redemption team) at the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, he uses his lived experience to help others recognize that their past does not have to define their future.

HART's mission is to change hearts and minds by creating healthy, prosocial environments both inside and outside of prison. Through honest, authentic conversations rooted in lived experience, the team delivers a message of hope, accountability, and redemption. Their stories resonate because they come from people who have faced the same struggles, made the difficult choice to change, and now dedicate their lives to helping others do the same.

Chris knows that transformation is possible because he has lived it. Having once been on the receiving end of HART's support, he remembers the hope it brought to what once seemed like a hopeless life. Today, he has come full circle. Rather than allowing his past to define him, he has chosen to use it as a source of strength, compassion, and purpose.

By showing up with empathy, honesty, and unwavering belief in the potential of others, Chris helps create the kind of environment where healing can begin. His story is a powerful reminder that redemption is not simply about leaving prison behind—it's about living a life of service, restoring hope, and helping others discover that they, too, are capable of change.
