Culture Club South Bay was founded by Allison Hales, whose vision continues to inspire a new generation of youth to connect through surf, sport, and culture. In 2025, the organization celebrated its five-year anniversary, marking a major milestone with the return of two full summer camps for the first time since 2022. More than 225 youth experienced a week of surfing, volleyball, and ocean stewardship at Bruce’s Beach, creating lasting memories rooted in community and inclusion.

Culture Club South Bay is expanding its reach through partnerships that champion access and inclusion. With ICEF CHARTER School in South Los Angeles, the organization now connects primarily Black and Latino youth to the ocean, creating opportunities for those historically excluded from coastal experiences. Its partnership with GALS (Girls Athletic Leadership School – Van Nuys) further extends its mission to empower young women through movement, leadership, and self-discovery. Looking ahead to 2026, CCSB will expand its camps to Hermosa Beach, continuing to build a more inclusive and transformative future by the sea.
