GripSpin Tennis is a nonprofit in San Jose making tennis accessible through free and low-cost classes for kids and adults who couldn’t otherwise afford the sport. Unlike basketball or soccer, tennis typically requires formal coaching at the beginning just to learn the basics, along with equipment and structured court access, which makes it far less accessible.

GripSpin removes those barriers by providing affordable instruction and community-based programs, creating a clear entry point into a sport that is often closed off to beginners. By opening access to tennis, they promote physical health, confidence, discipline, and long-term engagement in an individual sport that can be played for life, while also strengthening community and opportunity for youth and adults alike.
