Founded by Rosalino Pavia, Hoops4Justice uses the universal language of basketball to build relationships with young people impacted by the justice system. Drawing from his own lived experience, Pavia and his team enter juvenile halls and Secure Youth Treatment Facilities across Los Angeles County, creating spaces where mentorship, accountability, and encouragement can take root. Through every conversation, drill, and game, they remind young people that their future is not defined by their past.
While basketball may open the door, the mission reaches far beyond the court. Hoops4Justice helps youth develop confidence, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of possibility as they navigate some of life's most difficult challenges. By consistently showing up in places where hope can be hard to find, the organization demonstrates the transformative power of community, connection, and second chances.
