Founded in 2003 by Mary Setterholm—surfing champion, Harvard Divinity School graduate, and co-founder of the Women’s International Surfing Association—The Surf Bus Foundation carries forward her lifelong mission through the leadership of her daughter, Marion Clark. Marion continues her mother’s legacy of using the ocean as a space for healing, empowerment, and community.

Through ocean sports like surfing and swimming, as well as beach cleanups, safety education, and ocean literacy programs, The Surf Bus Foundation connects people—especially youth—to the transformative power of the sea. Guided by a belief that joy, stewardship, and shared responsibility for our oceans can change lives, Marion and her team inspire participants to care for the coastlines and carry forward a deep respect for the ocean’s ability to heal and unite.
